Until February 28th, the Oceanogràfic at the Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias will be home to the exhibition Ánforas del mar, containing over 100 reproductions of different sized amphorae that represent the trading spirit of Mediterranean cultures.

the exhibition shows visitors their origins on the coast of Lebanon and Syria during the 15th century BC and how they were used throughout the Mediterranean right up until the 7th Century AD

Alongside these faithful reproductions of the everyday art created by ancient peoples, the exhibition shows visitors their origins on the coast of Lebanon and Syria during the 15th century BC and how they were used throughout the Mediterranean right up until the 7th Century AD, when they were replaced by wood and leather containers.

Through this interesting exhibition, you can discover the complex manufacturing process, areas of production and historic evolution.
