Miguel Zamorano Caballer will offer a Neapolitan-style mascletà tomorrow afternoon at 2.00 pm at the Alameda.

The award-winning pyrotechnician has designed an impressive mascletà to welcome the New Year. “We are going to divide the mascletà in two differentiated areas. It will be one of the biggest mascletàs with an abundance of aerial fire and an outstanding earthquake-like ground motion. The show will last approximately 10 minutes”, says Miguel Zamorano.

Calatrava’s bridge

This exhibition will take place near the Calatrava’s bridge, from where the people will gaze at the stunning mascletà. To this expert professional, shooting to welcome the New Year is all an experience but mainly a responsability.

The custom of celebrating the beginning of the New Year with a mascletà was and idea by the mayoress of Valencia, Rita Barberá. In 2000 she decided to welcome the new millenium with a fireworks display. This year, according to the town hall sources, Zamorano Caballer’s company has signed a 20.000 euros contract, similar last year’s budget.

Gunpowder lovers will have the chance to welcome the new year to the rhythm of the fireworks so much preferred by the Valencians.
