Global Champions Tour (GCT) in the City of Arts and Sciences
The Global Champions Tour moves to Spain where the Museum Principe Felipe and the City of Arts and Sciences in Valencia transform to provide a spectacular venue for this 5-star show jumping event.
Presenting sponsor CN and CN WorldWide, official timepiece Rolex and media partner Eurosport are proud to be a part of this historic event, as the Global Champions Tour of Spain will be the most prestigious equestrian event ever to be held in Spain, along with the World Equestrian Games 2002.
Top riders in the world will compete on this custom-made arena for the coveted Global Champions Tour Grand Prix of Spain. There will be five local riders who will wave the red blanket in front of the stampeding international riders. From the experienced Rutherford Latham to the up and coming Sergio Alvarez Moya, fresh from a victory over the weekend at a 5-star event in Lummen, Belgium.
The event will be an Equestrian Party for everyone to enjoy with several attractions, including an Equestrian Park, situated at the Turia Garden adjacent to the showground and open free to the public. Furthermore, all proceeds from the sale of general admission tickets to the 5-star show jumping event will be donated to the Fundación Alex, a project to provide therapy with horses in Valencia.
The event will be broadcast on Eurosport relay live at 20:00 CET. It will also be broadcast on local Valencia television station Canal 9 and other international television stations Universal Sports-USA, Al Jazeera Sport-Middle East Countries, Eurosport Asia-Pacific, Equidia-France, Supersport-South Africa and Sport TV-Brazil.
