Zubin Mehta has begun today in the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia, the rehearsal of Götterdämmerung (Twilight of the Gods), which will inaugurate the second edition of the Festival of Mediterranean next May 30th.

Entitled “South of the Rhine” the Valencian arts centre will offer two cycles of Tetralogy of Richard Wagner this year, Der Ring des Nibelungen (Ring of the Nibelungen), which co-produced with the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino and has the support of the staging of La Fura dels Baus. It is the first time in Spain that an opera house production schedule a full Wagnerian ring twice.
