Anell de Llum: free open air show at the City of Arts and Sciences

The Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia offers next June 28, at 10.30pm, the spectacular open air show Anell de Llum which¸ following the success achieved last year, will once again be performing fragments of this work in the futuristic Santiago Calatrava’s building.
Wagner and The Ring of the Nibelung is one of the most complex and taxing projects ever undertaken by La Fura dels Baus. They have put a lot of hard work and enthusiasm into this coproduction put together with the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía in Valencia.

Las Fallas of Valencia, a candidate as a treasure of cultural heritage

Las Fallas in Valencia, Great Week in Bilbao and Corpus Christi in Toledo have been declared on Monday as some of the 10 candidates for the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Spain, according to the initiative developed by the International Bureau of Cultural Capitals (www.ibocc.org), with the desire to promote, educate and safeguard the Spanish intangible cultural heritage.

Delta launches Valencia – New York service

The first ever transatlantic flight from Valencia airport left for New York yesterday.
North American company Delta Air Lines is responsible for the historic feat, with four direct flights from Manises to John Fitzgerald Kennedy airport scheduled every week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, and planes travelling from the US base landing in Valencia on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
An estimated 50,000 US tourists visit the capital of the Valencia Region every year, which is expected to further boost numbers with the new flight connection.

A Taste of Spain in London and Edinburgh

A Taste of Spain returns on Tuesday 2 & Wednesday 3 June for the third year running to Borough Market.
 The country’s many flavours and tastes will be presented by the Spanish regions, food producers, suppliers, winemakers and London’s leading Spanish restaurants, at London’s oldest and most important food market. Star Wars invades El Corte Inglés

El Corte Inglés is hosting an exhibition with more than 2.000 Star Wars pieces which will be a dream come true for fans and non-fans alike. A space near 300 m2 displays a great set of Micromachines, unique in Europe.
The exhibition, which can be seen until July 5, also exposes numerous 3-inch Kenner/Hasbro figures, merchandising elements, plus replicas of armor which appeared in sagas and restored helmets of 1977 and 1980.
