Anell de Llum: free open air show at the City of Arts and Sciences

The Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia offers next June 28, at 10.30pm, the spectacular open air show Anell de Llum which¸ following the success achieved last year, will once again be performing fragments of this work in the futuristic Santiago Calatrava’s building.

Wagner and The Ring of the Nibelung is one of the most complex and taxing projects ever undertaken by La Fura dels Baus. They have put a lot of hard work and enthusiasm into this coproduction put together with the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía in Valencia.

la-fura-dels-bous-valenciaFollowing the success of in the previous edition of the Festival of Mediterranean, where over 12,000 people witnessed the impressive professional and technical group of the Spanish theater, the Valencian arts centre offers this show one more time, which combines fragments from the start scene of the operas that comprise the tetralogy The Ring of Nibelungen (The Rhine Gold, The Valkyries, Siegfried and the Twilight of the Gods) with projections of the same musical passages and the monumental works of Richard Wagner.

Spectators can enjoy some of the most famous pieces of these productions for free, which are these days in the Palau de les Arts.

Fragments like the famous’ Ride of the Valkyries’, pools suspended in the air from where the daughters of the Rhine will see how they Nibelung Alberich snatches the gold, the fight to the death of Sigfrigo with the dragon or the entry of the gods in Walhalla, formed by a network composed of 42 people lifted with a huge crane… a majestic exhibition by La Fura dels Baus that combine technology, special effects, sets of lights, projections and outstanding human architecture displays.
