Battle of Flowers in Valencia next Sunday
Perhaps the most beautiful battle in the world, since the ammunition is a bunch of thousand of precious petals.
The Battle of the Flowers is actually a tribute to peace, a colourful spectacle that has been taken place for more than a century, and put the end to the program of the festival of Valencia July Fair. Next Sunday 26 July, the Battle of Flowers in Paseo de la Alameda will live the atmosphere and spirit of Valencia in the late nineteenth century.
The traditional feast will recall its first edition, held in 1891 and join the events commemorating the 1909 Regional Exhibition, which is known was held almost two decades later.
It is expected the participation of a group of horsemen dressed in a uniform almost identical to that used by the Royal Guard, which will recall the presence of King Alfonso XIII in 1909 in Valencia, in the context of the regional exhibition.
