Alonso’s Renault F1 Team was punished in the last GP of Hungary after a tyre flew off his car in Hungary. That penalty was appealed by the team, but until 18 August this resolution will not be known.

Almost all of the paddock thinks that the penalty is excessive and that the FIA will reverse and just let a financial penalty. But Renault can not wait to know whether they can race or not, because only the resolution will be known 3 days before everything has to be already mounted in the Valencia Street Circuit for the cars to get rolling.
