Michelin-starred chefs experiment in “Crea Orxata 09″

Valencia will host the second edition of “Crea Orxata 09″ next September 30, in which three distinguished Michelin-starred chefs experiment with the potential of the Valencian horchata and groundnut.

Chefs Bernd Knöller (Restaurante Riff), Jorge Breton, (Vertical and La Sucursal) , and Alejandro del Toro, (Restaurante Alejandro del Toro), will check the applications of these traditional products from Valencia on the cuisine.

This edition is aimed at professionals and will also feature the participation of the Department of Food Technology of the Polytechnic University of Valencia.

According to the organizers, this initiative has attracted the interest from leading Spanish chefs for “these products hitherto little exploited in the kitchen” having many healthy properties like groundnuts and horchata.

“Crea Orxata 09″ has been created to encourage out-of-season consumption of these products and achieve its “entry into the kitchen”, both in restaurants and houses.
