From 21 to 25 September Karpov and Kasparov will be in Valencia celebrating the silver anniversary of their first legendary encounter.

Chess lovers can enjoy a passionate exhibition contest of 12 matches between two geniuses of the chess board, Anatoly Karpov and Garry Kasparov, in Valencia. The chosen venue for this great duel is the Palau de les Arts which, for five intense days, will bear witness to the great rivalry between the two players.

This heated encounter is organised by Valencia, Cuna del Ajedrez Moderno   (Valencia, Cradle of Modern Chess), and celebrates the fact that the rules of chess as we know them today were established in Valencia. The event will be followed by 10 million people around the world and will be broadcast on the radio, television and internet.
