The Castelló Masters Costa Azahar golf tournament, taking place from 22nd to 25th October at the Mediterraneo Country Club in Borriol, is now in its second edition, and will feature the best players from around the world.

Naturally, the current Castelló Masters Costa Azahar champion, Sergio García, will be defending his title at this golf tournament, which is part of the PGA European Circuit.

Following the success of last year, the second edition looks set to be more exciting than ever. Over a hundred players from 15 different countries will be battling it out for victory on the green of the Mediterráneo Country Club in Borriol. This competition, which earns participants points for the Ryder Cup, will be played over 72 holes as a stroke play contest. Players such as Anthony Kim (USA), Ángel Cabrera (Argentina), Justin Rose (England) and Robert Karlsson (Sweden), among others, are expected to take part.

With only one edition ever played before, the Castelló Masters Costa Azahar has already secured its position on the international golf scene as one of the major events on the European circuit.  The 2008 edition generated an economic impact of 18 million euros and was beamed into around 240 million homes, taking images of Castellón and the Comunitat Valenciana around the world.  Castelló Masters Costa Azahar is already a prestigious brand, invaluable for promoting tourism and raising the international profile of the Comunitat Valenciana.
