Next Wednesday “La luz del Belén en la Catedral” (The Light of the Nativity at the Cathedral) will be exposed for the Christmas festivities until 6 January. Following the success of last year, when it was visited by 350,000 people, this year it is expected to beat its own record.

This monumental representation of the birth of Jesus and Bethlehem includes over 600 pieces and 2,000 animals of different sizes. One of the new figures of this year is an elephant measuring 60 cm wide by 65 cm tall. The Nativity scene also contains smaller pieces of varying sizes which have been arranged so as to create a realistic perspective of the atmosphere of Jesus’ times.
