Instead of the traditional, individual pre-season launches, for 2010 Formula One teams are looking to arrange one large event at which they will present their new cars together. Although their plans are yet to be finalised, it is understood the joint unveiling will be held in Valencia at the end of January, shortly before the first pre-season tests.
Mercedes-Benz GP chief executive Nick Fry said: “It is going to be hugely innovative. It is going to be a clear demonstration of how we are going to be working together.”
It is understood the new teams – Virgin Racing, US F1, Lotus and Campos – may struggle to have their cars ready by then, but they would be present at the event.
