A unique Valencia History Tour
Today we’re devoting this post to a very interesting tourist guide around Valencia. Valencia History Tour is a theatrical tour through the historic center of the city by a character from the early seventeenth century, inspired by a man named Jerome Valeriola who did exist really.
This ghost who was unjustly hanged, and has been raised “again” after 100 years to show the city to “any stranger or whoever wants to”. As his last time was 100 years ago, he teaches what he had known about those times and one of his descendants shows all the modern things of today. Undoubtedly, he is also interested in inventions of this period or twenty-first century furniture, such as cameras, phones, trash cans… and he asks what is all this to the public.
The meeting point is Plaza Tetuan by the St. Vincent Ferrer statue, which helps protect visitors, and is one of the protagonists of the tour. After almost two hours telling stories of the city, origins of squares, legends, lives of characters, etc… the tour concludes at the Plaza de la Virgen. Then he can rest and as a girl said, “now he’s going to heaven”.
The creator, writer and actor who gives form and life to Valencia History Tour is David Herrera, BA in History at Universidad de Historia and Drama graduate at the private school Estudio Dramático.
