2009 was our first year in Extravalencia.com and we are very glad to say that it was very successful regarding its acceptance within the travelling related groups. During this year we’ve published lots of posts broadening our areas of interest, art, sport, theatre, interesting initiatives, unique places, and all kind of information to make tourists’ stay an enjoyable and unforgettable one!

As regards statistics, we are glad to say that our aim of getting foreign audience was fulfilled. Superflat is an artistic style that comments on Otaku lifestyle and subculture, as well as consumerism and sexual fetishism.

Valencia has always worked thoroughly to attract Japanese tourists. It is one of the few cities in Spain that has a quality website in Japanese (in terms of translation and content). The campaign this year was a website in Japanese only, which takes advantage of multimedia content, such as a video of a Japanese girl who has visited Valencia thanks to the online game “Ninots Contest”, a very peculiar and viral marketing campaign.
