The world’s most used search engine has launched today a very useful tool for metropolitan public transportation routes, within Google Maps. This is the first time in Spain there is a chance to plan a route with various modes of public transport in a single platform.

Google Transit allows a person to know the services of the public transportation to get from a place of origin to the destination, with timetables, routes and companies providing the service. It describes the total travel time to walk to or transport terminal, waiting, transfers and travel time around Valencia. You only need to enter an address and a destination and the page will present you the best choices to plan your trip.

The application is very flexible regarding the references that the user can use to determine the origin and destination, as it works as a search engine: scans the words and search terms including those which march, proposing, if necessary, several options for you to select the most appropriate. It also provides information about the operator who performs the service and their website addresses, if available.

This initiative was made possible thanks to a partnership between the Valencian Metropolitan Mobility, the Municipal Transport Company of Valencia (EMT), Valencia Metro and Google, who for months have been developing and implementing all the necessary information to achieve maximum service for users, helping to improve their urban mobility.

The access is already available through Google Maps on maps.google.es/transit, in maps.google.es/transitvalencia or through m.google.com/valencia for mobiles.
