The Holy Week  is being celebrated everywhere, some people enjoy these holidays relaxing and travelling and some others choose to participate in the celebrations actively and take some time to reflect about their lives. Valencia is one of those cities which live Easter in a peculiar way, specially in the Maritime quarters.

The 2010 season will kick off in a unique setting:  the City of Arts and Sciences, an emblematic architectural and cultural facility. A festive atmosphere has completely inundated Valencia. In every street, every square and every Casal (festival tent) you will feel the euphoria building up prior to the start of the most eagerly-anticipated event of the year as the final preparations are taking place for the official start of the Fallas 2010.
On Monday 15th March, the official acts get underway for this Festival of international tourist interest with the Plantà infantil and throughout the following days tourists and locals alike will enjoy a whole host of events and activities.

From 14th to 18th April, Valencia’s Luis Puig Velodrome will be transformed into the spectacular setting of beautiful circus show, Saltimbanco, during which spectators will be invited to submerge themselves in the depths of an imaginary city in order to find hope within its multiple realities.

“Las Fallas” wouldn’t be complete without “mascletaes”, which begin on 1st March and continue up to the end of the festivities on the 19th. At 2.00 o’clock each afternoon, Valencians and visitors gather in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento to enjoy the vibrant explosions of more than 100 kg of gunpowder, set off within a five minute period and which create a unique, thunderous rhythm.
