International Tango Festival in Valencia
The festival, which takes place from 9th – 11th July, is made up of classes, shows and much more. Juan Martín Carrara and Stefanía Colina, intercontinental champions of tango ballroom dancing will be leading the festival, in this unique stop at the Universidad Politécnica de Valencia as part of their European Tour 2010.
The Universidad Politécnica de Valencia presents the International Tango Festival in Valencia 2010 from 9th to 11th July. The event is directed by Salomé Rey, and offers a unique opportunity to see live performances from intercontinental champions of tango ballroom dancing, Juan Martín Carrara and Stefanía Colina, who will also teach most of the classes during the festival (at three levels: beginners, intermediate and advanced) It will be Juan Martin and Stefanía’s only stop in Spain during their European Tour 2010, which also takes them to Belgium, Holand and Germany.
There will be classes on “First steps and basic concepts”, “Posture and position” “Connection, energy and intentions”, and many more …taught by the best of the best. These classes make up a full programme which includes “milongas” (a popular dance from Argentina and Uruguay), shows, a special class on “chacarera”, an audiovisual conference entitled “The evolution of tango orchestras” directed by María Teresa Soriano and much more…
There are several different types of tickets available for the festival. Prices start at 10€ for the Milonga class on Sunday and go up to 120€ for Ticket type 1 which includes five classes to choose from, the chacarera class and three milongas with a show.
The deadline for signing up is 5th July and all members of the University community should show their UPV cards to receive a 50 % discount in all activities. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn, enjoy and experience tango with the best!
