Fallas From Valencia: Programme 2011

Las Fallas is one of the world’s largest, and loudest festivals. Valencia has been preparing through twelve months to honour St Joseph in this street festival that culminates in giant sculptures being burned on 19 March, which is also Father’s Day. Only the winning Falla is allowed to extract an item from its structure to display in the Fallas museum.

Bioparc welcomes lions from Angola

Valencia BIOPARC expands its family. It incorporates two females and one male to the couple currently living in the park.
These new members belong to the subspecies of Angola (Panthera leo bleyenberghi). The mighty roar of this lion can be heard more than 8 km away on the African savanna announcing their presence. Males also use it to bring together members of the herd or to communicate with other neighboring herds.

Valencia Tapas Fair

Twenty Tapas bars offer their little creations for only 2.40 euros including a beer and a special bite-size appetizers.
Until next Sunday, the Tinglado 2 of the Port of Valencia will become in a ‘neighborhood of tapas’. From 12pm to 4.30 pm and from 8pm to 12am, visitors will enjoy delicious local tapas and exhibitions of ham cutting . In addition, on Sunday afternoon a contest will be held to find the best “tapas” in the Fair.
