On 9 October 2011, Valencia celebrates two important dates in its history, the Region Of Valencia Day and Saint of the Community of Valencia and the Day of Saint Denis.
It was on 9 October 1238 that King James I of Aragon made his triumphal entry into Valencia. Days before the October 9, Muslims in the city of Valencia, had displayed the “senyal the king” (the “Real Senyera”, the Valencian Royal flag) on the walls of Valencia in surrender.

An unparalleled concert experience during the next four days, the Festival Internacional de Benicàssim (FIB) has arrived! The Strokes, Arcade Fire, The Streets, Arctic Monkeys and new music talents as Veronica Falls or Brandon Flowers among many other artists will be making you dance from 14th to 17th July.

Tomorrow Friday 24 June, The Agora of the City of Arts and Sciences is hosting David Guetta’s concert, one of the DJ’s reference to the house scene and unrivalled top selling lists of electronic music. The event, organized by F1 Rocks will begin at 10pm.

The New York modern art comes to Valencia with Art Battles. Bonaire will host the exhibition which has changed the way some artists show their talent to the world.
Bonaire shopping center of Valencia will play host to the biggest competition of live art from today. Valencia Art Battles is a show open to the public for an hour and a half during which the artists paint live on a particular topic, accompanied by the best live music.

Shakira will perform in Valencia on May 30, adding a new date to her ‘Sale el Sol’ Tour. The setting for the event will be the sophisticated Juan Carlos I Royal Marina by the Mediterranean sea. The Colombian artist will also perform in Almería (June 1), Madrid (3) and Bilbao (4).

The Centro del Carmen welcomes “Portraits of the Belle Époque” an exhibition presenting outstanding painters such as Manet, Sorolla, Boldini and Whistler.
The exhibition is focused on the period between the Franco-Prussian and the First World War, known in Europe as Belle Epoque, characterized by a growth and significant economic turmoil policy that has produced great social changes. The portrait, with a significant commercial demand, illustrates the new individualism of a modern man and his interest by the image projected in their social environment.
