The first ever Spanish Grand Prix of this tour will be held in this city from May 8 to 10 this year. Valencia will host this international event from 2009 until 2011 with an option to sign for another year. The world’s top 30 risers and 160 competition horses will take part in five events daily that will be covered by television stations in more than 60 countries.

The competition will take place in the area of the Principe Felipe Science Museum in the City of Arts and Sciences complex with the jumping and training arenas placed on what is now the museum’s lake. The Turia Gardens will become the ‘Gardens of Horses’ area with horse boxes and a themed zone to promote horse riding and competition. The event will have stands for 1,200 spectators, a VIP area for sponsors, institutions and businesses and a shopping village with 30 stands.
